Altar Servers/ Servidores del Altar (Monaguillo/a)
The Altar Server's Ministry is a unique one in the Catholic Church. Your participation as an Altar Server is special. When you serve the priests, you serve the people of God, and above all, you serve Christ.
Your duties as an Altar Server will involve helping prepare for the Mass; lighting candles; holding the books for the priest used at Mass; ringing bells; and saying the prayers. Of utmost importance, however, is not really the things you do, but the example you give.
As an Altar Server, you will do things that others will never do. You will learn things that others will never know. You will see the Mass in ways that others may never see it. You will do it for the Honor and Glory of God!
If you want to be part of the Altar Server's Ministry, please call the Parish Office for more information (503) 777-3321 - There is not age limit (kid, teen or adult) the only requierment is to have made the First Communion.
El Ministerio Servidor(a) del Altar es ûnico en la Iglesia Católica. Los monaguillos tienen un papel especial en la Santa Eucaristia sirviendole al sacerdote, al pueblo de Dios y, sobre todo, a Cristo.
Tus deberes como Servidor(a) del Altar implicarán ayudar a preparar para la Misa; ayudar con la velas; sosteniendo los libros para el sacerdote usados en misa; tocar las campanas; y diciendo las oraciones. La mayor importancia, sin embargo, no son realmente las cosa que haces, sino el ejemplo que das.
Como Servidor(a) del Altar, harás cosa que otros nunca harán. Tu verás la Misa de manera que otros nunca la verán. Lo harás por el Honor y la Gloria de Dios!
