Come Holy Spirit !

by Felix Barba
Come Holy Spirit !
Context:
When we do not how to pray, the Holy Spirit fills our hearts to adventure on
his life-giving grace. In the passages this past week, we have heard of the
enthusiasm and nobility with which Paul and the Apostles shared as they
proclaimed their faith of the Risen Jesus and his healing ministry. Today,
however, we go back to a foundational time for the Church, the event known
as Pentecost.
Experience:
Have you ever had the experience of being in a foreign country or a place
where people speak differently? If you do, perhaps you might have felt
something like “I don’t belong here.” However, all of the sudden, you hear
somebody speaking your own language!!! How does that make you feel
now? I can’t help to think that it is like that moment of felling a little bit at
home.
Message:
That is precisely what happened in Pentecost. People were able to
understand each other because the Holy Spirit descended upon them. In
other words, they felt at home, where God was communicating to them. The
risen question now is: How is God reaching out to us? I do believe He is
speaking to us neither in an alien nor in a foreign way but deep inside of us,
in the silence of our hearts. We know that Pentecost was a vivid and colorful
image; tons of fire and powerful wind.
Our daily life is perhaps less spectacular and dramatic than that
one of Pentecost but the Holy Spirit is not less present with us now.
He is present within and with us because we are His temples. As
broken as we are, He comes to beautify and to uplift us to God.

Ven Espiritu Santo!
Contexto:
No importa cuan fraccionados estemos,
Él viene a embellecer y elevarnos a Dios.
