Our gospel today tells the story of Jesus returning home to bring the good news. He proclaims the scriptures and in- vites the people he grew up with, the people that know his father, Joseph, and Mary his mom, to come to a deeper understanding of who he is and what his mission is. It is not easy, after all, the town folk all know Jesus already, they have made up their minds about who he is and what he is capable of. Now they see him preaching in the synagogue, and while moved by his message they cannot grasp what it really means. Their very knowledge of Jesus stops them from seeing more deeply who he truly is and who he can be for them. How about you, do you know Jesus so well that he really has no way to come to you fresh and new and speak the good news to you in a deeper and more transforming 


 Nuestro Evangelio de hoy nos cuenta la historia de Jesús cuando regresa a casa trayendo la Buena Nueva. El proclama las escrituras e invita a la gente con quien él creció, la gente que concoce a su padre, José, y a María, su madre, para que comprendan verdaderamente quien es él y cual es su misión. Pero no es fácil, toda la gente del pueblo ya conoce a Jesús, ellos ya han hecho sus propias conclusiones de quien es él y de lo qu es capaz. Ahora lo ven predicando en la sinagoga, y aunque se sienten movidos por su mensaje no logran compender lo que en realidad quiere decir. Su conocimiento de Jesús no los deja conocerlo más fondo y ver quien es él realmente y lo que puede ser para ellos. Y usted, conoce tan bien a Jesús que él no puede venir con noticias frescas y hablar de la buena nueva con usted de un modo más íntimo y que sea capaz de transformarle?
