Dear sisters and brothers in Christ, some of you might know that I myself have been bed ridden for the past 10 days with the flu. I contacted my doctor and I was advised to self-isolete until all the symptoms are gone. My doctor does not believe that it was anything else other than the flu. Needless to say, it has been a long 10 days but it has increased my empathy for the many people around the world facing the current health threat. The cancellation of the celebration of the Holy Eucharist and all prayer and faith formation activities has been a very sad measure that we all are facing. For now, we are to take advantage of our social media for the celebration of the Holy Mass. We are encouraged to do our devotionals with our family members: The reading of the Holy Bible, the praying of the holy rosary, the stations of the cross, and visitation to the Blessed Sacrament, in your parish' chapel, just to name a-few. Doing works of mercy need to continue to be at the center of who we are as christians. Don't forget to continue to use the rice bowl as a way of praying and doing good for others. We are discussing ideas to continue to provide you with the sacraments during this time. Please if you have any idea call the office and let us know. The office is open for anything you may need. I myself cannot have any face to face interaction just yet due to my dealing with the flu for a few more days. During this time, each one of you have been in my prayers and in my heart. I pray each day for you, your families, your friends and neighbors. I can't hardly wait to be gathered together with each one of you again around the Table of the Lord!
